Preparations for Penallta's amazing Christmas panto are underway.

Behind the scenes, the stars of the show are busy undergoing expensive acting lessons and rehearsing under the cloak of strict secrecy... all in a bid to ensure the festive events bring the Penallta clubhouse down.

The dates for the three showings are as follows:

Tuesday 20th December - 7pm Evening Showing

Tuesday 27th December - 3pm Matinee Showing

Friday 30th December - 7pm Evening Showing

The panto is called 'The Stars of Bethlehell' and features over 20 legendary Penallta characters; male and female; young and old(ish); beautiful and, ahem, not quite so beautiful. Players from past and present will be taking to the stage alongside singing professionals like Caitlin Hudson, Joanne Griffiths and John Coleman, plus the great entertainer Susan Williams, who spent many years organising the wonderfully successful Stars In Their Eyes competition, which ran for over a decade. The whole cast are busy learning their lines and routines.... and discussing what to do next on the celebrity circuit with their high-powered agents!

Many of the star names are top secret and will only be revealed, in character, during the shows. Suffice to say, it will be well worth the wait. The singing, the dancing, the bedlam, the humour and general storyline are all drawn from Penallta's deep well of personality and social fun. The very stuff that has made the club so great down the years. The Panto is a mixture of comedy, nativity, poignancy, cabaret and controversy, and is bound to offend religious zealots. Expect the People's Front of Judea to be protesting the club with burning crosses throughout the whole Christmas period!

Tickets for the shows will be at a premium and the committee would like to announce that members of Penallta RFC will get first option. The club wants to organise the shows as smoothly as possible and make it clear that EVERYBODY is welcome to become a member of Penallta RFC, all you have to do is pay the annual membership fee, which is:

Membership for Player or Coach - £10.00 

Membership for Non Players - £15.00

A membership card gains a member discounted drinks at the bar (throughout the whole year) and works financially in the favour of a member very quickly, especially if the club is attended often.

The creators and cast of The Stars of Bethlehell have put in an extraordinary amount of work this past six months to make the Penallta Panto a reality. It is done purely with the intention of providing Christmas entertainment to the club members and to the wider community. It will be fantastic fun and the clubs wants everybody to get the chance to see it - so please pay your membership as soon as you can.

TICKETS will go on sale (prices to be decided) TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY and are expected to disappear fast so get yourself organised. Visit the club to pay your membership and ensure you get a front row seat.
